Puglia: a world leader in tourist hospitality

• In 2023, Puglia reaffirmed itself as one of Italy’s most popular tourist destinations, with a significant increase in the number of visitors compared to previous years. Statistics indicate a 15% increase compared to the previous year, with a total of over 10 million tourists choosing the region as their vacation destination.

• The most popular cities remain Bari, Lecce, and Ostuni, but there is also a great interest in other destinations like Gallipoli and Otranto. Hotel and bed and breakfast bookings have increased by 20%, while there is a 10% increase in tourist flows from abroad.

• Puglia’s hospitality sector includes around 4,000 accommodation facilities, comprising hotels, bed and breakfasts, agritourisms, campsites, and other types of lodging.
